Dancing Bear Lodge is a cabin located in Roseland, VA. It is just over 2,000 square feet, which makes it a spacious size for hosting larger groups of up to 10 people. If you are looking for an "off the grid" experience on 38 acres with a spectacular mountain view, this place is for you! The property is a nice balance of seclusion while still having the comfort of modern amenities and prime location. You will be close to lots of wonderful wineries, cideries, breweries, distilleries (Nelson 151), and outdoor adventure activities! We are about 20 minutes away from the notable Wintergreen Resort, with exciting winter skiing and tubing to enjoy.
The property has some very unique features, including a fireplace built with stones from the old cobblestone streets of Norfolk. In addition, the wood floors in the main living area and other wood features throughout the property are crafted from timber harvested and milled on site. Wildlife abounds on the property - you very well may spot deer, bear, cardinals, and more!
A project we want to embark on (hopefully in the spring) is carving out trails for our guests to enjoy to showcase evidence of old chestnut logging trails from the 1800s, beautiful rock formations, and a fresh water spring.

The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and full en suite bathroom (shower/tub). The master bedroom shares a hallway with 2 other bedrooms (queen and king) and the second full bath (shower/tub). The other (half) bath is on the opposite end of the house, near the kitchen and fourth bedroom (queen).

-Must be 25 years old to place reservation. Picture of photo ID will be required.
-Two days before your arrival, we will email you with check-in details. We communicate with you solely via email, and we ask that you do the same with any questions or concerns you have during your stay. We aim to respond within an hour from 9AM-9PM EST. Response times outside of this window may be delayed.
-100% of payment will be due up front.
-A security deposit of $300 and rental agreement (e signature) are required after booking. This process will take place via email. We will also offer travel insurance during the check out process.
-No smoking / No pets / No parties
-HOLIDAYS - No check out on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day
-The camera facing the front porch/entry of the property will be on during your stay. This is for security purposes. It operates with motion detection, so motion lights will turn on accordingly.
-Cell reception on our property is spotty. To remedy this, we have a landline available.
-There is a basement and garage that will be unavailable for guests to access. Furthermore, there is a small studio cabin on site that is also unavailable to guests.
- Despite a comprehensive bug treatment monthly (interior and exterior), the cabin is in the woods and you may see insects that are known to inhabit the area. Bears are known to frequent the area. Please lock car doors and keep doors and windows closed when unattended.
-Children are definitely welcome! However, please keep in mind that the cabin is not fully baby/child proofed.
-The cabin comes stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, linens, and bath towels. Prepare to bring or purchase other personal necessities, like shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps. Starter toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and dish soap are provided.
-No late check out or early check in can be arranged, as enough time needs to be given to our cleaner to properly prepare the place for our guests.
-No refunds are provided for things that are beyond our control (power outage, weather, natural disasters, etc.).
